Mobile Search – Google Replaces URLs with Site Name and Breadcrumbs

Google officially announced that they are no longer showing the domain names and URLs in the Mobile Search Result Snippet, now it will display the names of the websites with the breadcrumbs like format.

Google called it a “better presentation URLs” for Mobile Search, to offer users enough idea about the page topic and it fits within the website. Here is what Google said: “today we’re updating the algorithms that display URLs in the search results to better reflect the names of websites, using the real-world name of the site instead of the domain name, and the URL structure of the sites in a breadcrumbs-like format.”

Also, these changes are rolling out only in US only and it will only affect the Mobile Search Results. Google introduced the support to help Google algorithms understand your website name to be used instead of domain name, of which mark up can be found here and schema for breadcrumbs can be found here.
